Ngl I am a little *heart eyes* about this guy saying he will handwrite a letter to the president of my school if they don't hurry up and fix the only elevator into the food court on campus

this is generally good advice but I hate it when people tell you to "simply do some push ups" to get back into it or to start from scratch. Push ups are one of the hardest (and most efficient) exercises there are, especially for people who haven't worked out before or in a long time. So if you're struggling with doing push ups, that's completely normal and no sign of weakness. The same goes for going for a walk because if you're really so depressed that you can't get up, you probably won't go strolling around the block just like that (actually, if you spend a lot of time lying down, please be careful walking around because you might actually pass out).
Try this instead (sorted by difficulty, starting with the easiest):
- some light and gentle stretching just to get some feeling back into your muscles and to reconnect with your body, you can even do that while sitting on the edge of your bed
- lie down on your back, either on the floor or even just on your bed or couch, put your legs into the air and do some cycling motions with your legs in the air, do it only until you have to catch your breath. Breaks are okay! No need to set a timer. Do it in your own time, do it as long as it feels bearable.
- look for a yoga routine for RELAXING yoga or for tension relief or even just bedtime yoga. It's still movement. It's still engaging your muscles.
- try some LIGHT exercise like doing push ups standing up with your hands against the wall, biceps curls (you can use books or a water bottle for that if you don't have dumbbells), crunches or sit-ups, squats while holding on to a chair. Only do as many as you can. There's no need to start with ten. Three are perfectly fine. Even one is enough.
- walk up and down the stairs (hold on to the railing if you need it! There's no shame in it), even just once is fine.
Here are some reminders:
- there are no rules. The yoga instructor might tell you to hold a position for 30 seconds, if you can't do that, don't.
- be very gentle with your knees, especially if you've never worked out before, especially if you usually don't lean down on them, especially if you're overweight.
- a little goes a long way. Don't overdo it. Don't put any pressure on yourself. Smaller movements are often better.
- your muscles will maybe sting or tingle or even burn a little bit which is normal and will start to feel good after a while. Drop what you're doing if you feel a sudden sharp sensation in your muscles, joints, bones or tendons. It'll feel wrong when you're doing something wrong and please listen to your body. You have nothing to prove.
- just because you were able to do ten sit-ups yesterday doesn't mean you're obligated to do the same amount (or more) the next day. Your energy levels vary from day to day. You're not failing because you're doing less than the last time.
- warmth helps sore muscles. (Hot water bottles, warm showers or baths, rubbing your hands together for twenty seconds and gently massaging the sore muscle with your warm hands)
- you'll hate it in the moment but there WILL be the fun kind of hormones afterwards. As a treat. Promise.
- just trying is enough. Just show up. That's my personal rule whenever I go to the gym but it can be applied to working out at home too. Just show up. How much you end up doing isn't set in stone.
- anything is better than nothing. One squat is better than zero squats.

It’s actually crazy to think how something like putting a self indulgent fic out there can actually impact people’s lives to a greater extent than just liking it.
The way you write power dynamics gave me so much gender euphoria that I got back into writing/art, started strength training at the gym consistently, and found a gym bro to spot me and belt kinky homoerotic 80s music with. I’m picking him up in like an hour and just realized while getting dressed that I probably wouldn’t be doing all that stuff to the same extent if you didn’t have passion for stuff that you decided to share? thank u?? idk maybe this is tmi but I would want to know how something I wrote impacted someone
I hope you have a good day man
It's wild that you sent this message when you did because I was just talking with a friend about the impact of being yourself + inspiring people to be more authentic and bold because of it. I am so happy that my writing was able to inspire you like that.
The reason I started writing in the first place was because the way people wrote about transness in fic was triggering/disempowering to me and I wanted to combat that. My work is a very honest, very raw expression of myself and my desires, and I try to be as unflinching and unashamed about it as possible.
I love that it was able to spark euphoria in you and that euphoria transferred into physical areas in your life that kept that passion burning. I'm glad you decided to share this with me. If my writing does anything for people, I'd want it to be this.

Hii! Let me start by saying that english is not my first language, so sorry for writing mistakes...
I just want to ask (and need to know) if you will continue your story A Series of Left Turns? I think i read this work more than 4 times already haha
When i found your profile in ao3 i was kind desperate to find a romance with something deeper than just erotica (dont get me wrong i like the erotica too), something that i could relate and at the same time would made me forget about my reality. I wanted to feel love, excitement, hope, you know? I was kind depressed i guess and reading was always a escape for me...and i have to say thank you. The way you write is so sensible and passionate, even when you are talking about really difficult things and questions about life. Your truly are gifted. You made me cry, laugh, feel emotions like it was about me, i was captured in every word. So thank you, if i could i would gladly pay you!
I understand that you have other interests now, other stories, i dont play games so i dont get a lot of it, but im sure its good too. Anyway, i wanted you to know that you have a fan of this story!
Hope you are good and safe 🩷
Thank you so much! That very kind to say and I'm more than happy to know I could provide some kind of escape for you. I can't tell you how much that means to hear ;3;
Truth is, I got very burnt out of writing several months ago. This is a hobby for me and it had stopped being fun for a while there. I needed a break and I needed a new infusion of inspiration that I had been kind of holding off on to try and get Left Turn done because I have a tendency to get distracted from projects when a new idea crops up. So right now, that story sits in a comfortable spot to be on hiatus for a bit while I let my brain gnaw on something else for a while.
I may return to it someday. I love these characters a lot and there is a few scenes I really want to write that happen relatively soon in the story, most importantly a wedding and a trip Caleb goes on over the winter solstice. But I'm not sure when I will, so I can make no promises.
Again, thank you so much :D
